【題名】　Ocean color remote sensing of harmful algal blooms

【要旨】　Harmful algal blooms (HABs) can have negative impacts on the marine ecosystem and human health. Optical remote sensing has potential applicability to detect HABs frequently and over a large spatial scale by observing a discoloration of surface water due to HAB causative phytoplankton group or species. However, to fully exploit remote sensing for routine HAB monitoring, a HAB detection algorithm is required. A system that introduces HAB algorithms and relays HAB-related information in near-real-time is then expected to help stakeholders act on necessary measures to deal with the negative impact of HABs.
