A02 ポスドク MD Farhadur Rahmanさんの自己紹介です。

My name is MD Farhadur Rahman from Bangladesh. Now I am working as a postdoctoral researcher in Tropical Forest Research and Environments Lab at Kyoto University and collaborating with Associate Professor Dr. Yusuke Onoda on The digital Biosphere project. My career aspiration is to be a forest ecologist who can apply the most advanced remote sensing techniques.

I completed my Bachelor majoring in Forestry from the Institute of Forestry and Environmental Science, University of Chittagong, Bangladesh. Since my undergraduate, my research focus revolved around the usage of technology in forestry and forest ecology. I was fortunate enough to be selected and supported by the Japanese Government (MONBUKAGAKUSHO: MEXT) to pursue my graduate studies in Japan. Thereafter, I joined as a master’s student at Kyoto University in 2016. Afterward, I also continued to Ph.D. at the same lab and was awarded Ph.D. in March 2022.

My doctoral work focused on analysis with airborne LiDAR over 230 km2 of forest-dominated areas in central Kyoto, Japan to explore information on forest structure and disturbance dynamics. During my Ph.D., I was fortunate enough to work with an enormous dataset and successfully summarize ecologically meaningful information using state of technologies. Apart from that, I also have experience in tracking canopy leaf ecophysiology from light reflectance.

In my current affiliation with this project, I hope to continue exploring more about utilizing high-resolution information and collaborating more with other researchers. Finally, I want to thank everyone to give me an opportunity to be part of this multidimensional project and interact with this diverse research group.
